Crazycraft End of Life

Postby crazyscience » Thu Mar 28, 2013 1:13 pm

Hey guys.

Traffic is way down on the server, so we're going to be shutting down Crazycraft. We'll be making the world files available via a .torrent download that we'll be seeding for the foreseeable future. We will still be running an MC server though. It'll be whitelisted and managed by blakethepatton. If you're interested in joining the list, please let us know. It will be on a different hostname that the current CC server. If you have any questions, let me know. It's been great gaming with all of you.

Cheers,

Given that the world files will be up for download, the whitelisted server will have a fresh map?

Leo: Mr. Blake said he wanted to keep running an MC server for him/his friends. So, I don't know. it'll be a blake thing. The new server is all set up. Just waiting for him.

Thunder: Yes. The whitelisted server will have a fresh map. The map files for crazycraft are currently in the range of "too many" GB...roughly. The new server is a VPS that we're hosting. The physical machine that the new server resides on is what we refer to as our "control server." It hosts a lot of services that we use internally so the resources on the physical machine are pretty tight. Too tight to take on the crazycraft server as it currently is. The new MC server will likely feature awesome things like tight-in world-borders. :) I've allocated the following resources:
-8 GB HDD space
-2 GB RAM
-2x 3.2GHz Xeon Procs

Anyway, I'll be keeping people updated as we make our way through the final stages of shutting down the Cropsmasher project.

I saw the server was down today, that sucks, but a legacy must end at a point. I would like to be whitelisted as well!

I'll likely just give you admin access. It's the same control panel. A few minor changes (like, you can upload your own .jar files over FTP)
